As 2006 draws to a close, we move into 2007 with the
confidence that we can build on the previous year’s
initiatives and solid results. We are equally confident
that Dean Health Plan (DHP) will further enhance efficiency while improving member satisfaction.
We will continue to offer a comprehensive portfolio of innovative, cost-effective products and services that provide an array of options for individuals, families and employers. DHP is also maintaining our high service standards, as evidenced by receiving the highest accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
To meet our goal of improved coordination of care, Dean/St. Mary’s sites introduced referral advocates in 2006. At the physician’s request, a referral advocate will step in to facilitate the member’s specialty care and referral needs by acting as a liaison between the referring physician and the specialty care provider. The advocate will set up the appointment, provide directions and maps, coordinate lab results, and help make the transition to a specialty provider seamless and simple.
We are focused on technological advancements, including continuing to educate our members about our Web-based portals, DeanConnect and MyChart. DeanConnect provides members with 24-hour, seven-day-a-week access to view their claims status, change personal information or select a provider. MyChart enables patients whose physicians are MyChart providers to send e-mails, view their medical chart and lab results, schedule appointments, and much more.
