Dear Dean Health Plan Member,
We know that you want the most bang for
your healthcare buck, so we are continually
developing services that add value for our
members. Dean Health Plan (DHP) provides
you with the tools you need to manage your healthcare
benefits, receive reimbursements for health-enhancement
services, save money through specialty and mail-order
pharmacies, and much more. The following initiatives
and programs either were launched or reached new
heights in 2006:
DeanConnect. Through the online portal, members can review claims, print Explanations of Benefits, order ID cards, view benefit coverage, and locate pharmacies and providers.
MyChart. With this online advancement, members who are patients of Dean Medical Center primary care practitioners can access their medical and insurance information through DeanConnect.
Prescription drug mail-order program. Since January 2006, DHP has offered a mail-order program through which members can receive a 90-day supply of maintenance medications for two copayments.
Elimination of required referrals to plan providers. Since January 2006, DHP members have been able to self-refer within the DHP network. This improvement reduces administrative work and increases member satisfaction without sacrificing quality.
Complementary Health Program. Through this program, all members older than age 18 are eligible for 50 percent of the first $200 in qualified charges, which include health club memberships, weight-loss programs, many Dean & St. Mary’s HealthWorks classes, acupuncture and massage therapy.
Predictive modeling. DHP’s predictive modeling casemanagement program identifies and intervenes with at-risk members before they require traditional case management, thereby reducing long-term costs and improving quality of life. In addition to the one-on-one case-management program that was rolled out in 2006, DHP is developing ways to help members assess, understand and manage their health risks.
Specialty Rx. Navitus Specialty Rx, DHP’s specialty pharmacy program, provides personalized support for members who require high-cost, self-injectable medications, which allows for better compliance with treatment plans along with improved pricing for prescription drugs.
Quality. Quality is a cornerstone of DHP, which is reflected in our NCQA Excellent accreditation for the past seven years. St. Mary’s Hospital was recently redesignated as a Magnet hospital, the only hospital in southern Wisconsin with this honor.
Administrative efficiency. DHP continues to lead the market in administrative efficiency, as evidenced by the lowest administrative cost in the state.
Today, consumer expectations are high. DHP and its healthcare providers are working hard to exceed those expectations and provide you with the tools and services you need to make your health and your family’s healthcare top priorities. Understanding our members’ needs is a key to keeping our commitment to provide you with the best healthcare and service in south central Wisconsin.
I encourage you to submit your feedback through our
surveys. You can provide comments to me by voice mail
