Depression Awareness Month

Photo of depressed woman; Model used for illustrative purposes onlyDepression Awareness Month in October raises awareness about depression, manic depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety. In addition, Mental Illness Awareness Week 2007 is observed from October 7 to 13, and National Depression Screening Day is October 11th.

The Dean Foundation and Dean Health System will offer events to educate and inform the public about symptoms and effective treatments for depression. Individuals will also have the opportunity to be screened and find out more about appropriate care.
