National Depression Screening Day
National Depression Screening Day, held every year during Mental Illness
Awareness Week, is designed to raise awareness about depression, manic
depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety. The day is focused
on educating the public about symptoms and effective treatments. Individuals
also have the opportunity to be screened for these disorders. This
helps those in need of treatment find out about appropriate care.
The Dean Foundation and Dean Health System will take part in National Depression Screening Day on Thursday, October 5. Stop by Dean West Clinic for a free, confidential depression screening. Reservations are not required for the screenings, which will be performed on a first-come, firstserved basis.
For more information about the event, including screening times, call the Dean Foundation at 608-827-2320 or visit www.dean.org.
