Dear Dean Health Plan member
This has been an exciting year for
Dean Health Plan (DHP). We’ve made
a lot of progress toward improving
care and service to all our members.
I’d like to thank the many of you
who have provided us with feedback
through surveys, focus groups and
telephone calls on what we do well
and the ways we can improve.
Do You Need a Referral?
Beginning January 1, 2006, Dean Health Plan (DHP)
will no longer require you to obtain a referral to see
a DHP network provider outside of your primary care
clinic. This includes specialty providers who are part
of the DHP network.
Dean Health Plan Is Committed to Quality
Dean Health Plan (DHP) has earned a place in the U.S. News and World
Report list of America’s Best Health Plans® 2005. The list is based on ratings
from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). The
organizations ranked the nation’s commercial health plans based on a
combination of member satisfaction, clinical performance and NCQA
accreditation.
Balancing Act
Do you often feel guilty at
work because of home
pressures and guilty at
home because of work
pressures? Ever feel like
you can’t win? A recent study from
the Families and Work Institute found
that more than half of American
employees felt “overwhelmed” by
their workload at some point within
the past month. Even so, one-third of
surveyed employees had no plans
to take the vacation days they had
available.
AIDS Prevention Is Still Important
True or false: Now that drugs are available to treat
AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome), this sexually
transmitted disease is not much of a threat for most
Americans.
A Talking Cure
Sometimes we all need a bit of extra
help to work through life’s problems.
It’s not unusual to go through a particularly
difficult time, such as when
you’re experiencing relationship difficulties
or work stress or you’re feeling
anxious for reasons you can’t explain.
Psychotherapy — sometimes called
talk therapy — may be the answer
that brings you peace of mind.
