Did You Know?

This year, more than 57,000 Americans will die of colorectal cancer. More than 90 percent of these deaths could be prevented with screening tests and lifestyle changes.

African Americans are at higher risk for colorectal cancer and are more likely to die of it. This is in part because they are less likely to get screened for the disease.

Women have the same risk for colon cancer as men do.

Getting screened for colon cancer is the best way to protect yourself. Screenings can not only detect precancerous signs, but they can also prevent the disease from occurring.
