DID You Know?

More than 60 percent of adults don’t get the recommended amount of regular physical activity.

Physical inactivity and a poor diet contribute to obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer. Together, they account for at least 400,000 U.S. deaths each year.

Physical inactivity increases the risk for heart disease by about the same amount as high cholesterol or high blood pressure.

Exercise doesn’t have to be difficult. Something as simple as three 10-minute walks per day meets the recommended level of aerobic activity.
